Who watches the watchmen?

Oh fuck, they're making a Watchmen-movie. And not just any they, Zack Snyder, director of the stylistic but horribly shallow 300 (and the remake of Dawn of the Dead, a zombie movie), is the director. Oh fuck. And the Screenwriter have done one script before, that looked like a fucking gang-drama from the Wiki-article.

I... Sigh. I don't think I'm going to watch the watchmen.

Sheesh, you're making that call NOW? Talk about prejudices. You love the novel, correct? Then you wait 'til the movie's out, hear with people whose opinions rarely differ greatly from your own and check reviews from reviewers you've felt was spot-on in earlier cases. Then, if you still do not want to see it, you chance on seeing the trailer, spoilers though it might have, you're probably not seeing it at this point anyway. If you're still dead sure you won't see it, then you lost maybe 20 minutes in total of your life to finding that out, but hey, it's a novel you love, I think you should wait that long with making the call, and not doing it biased on the previous work of a director and a writer that is not, from what you write here, that extensive anyway. They could surprise you. (Or they could suck. But you can't know that now.)

Anyway, I'll watch it, as a sucky movie won't bother me, and I'll be happier with having watched it and be able to comment on it properly. And if nothing else, if it does well, no matter its quality, it'll contribute to spawning more comic-book-based-movies, which on the whole I consider a positive thing.
